Recipe Series #3 : Citron/lemon ginger Rasam

Ingredients

1 cup diced Tomatoes

3 finely cut green chilies

Half teaspoon minced Ginger

Half a cup (small) Toor Dal

A pinch of Turmeric

A tablespoon of Rasam powder

Salt as per taste.

Tadka

Ghee

Mustard

Jeera

Crushed curry leaves

Dry broken Red chilies

Jaggery

What goes inside the pressure cooker?

Water, Toor Dal, Tomatoes, Green Chillies, Ginger, Turmeric, Rasam Powder.

What next?

Turn the stove off, after two whistles of the pressure cooker.

Then?

After opening the cooker, turn on the heat and add the salt and a teaspoon of Jaggery powder, then pour the Tadka.

Finally

Switch off the heat add lemon/orange/citron juice and chopped coriander. Enjoy as a soup or with hot rice.
