Kuruva is a 200+ year old natural and traditional rice variety from Wayanad in Kerala , with the original seeds being passed across generations. We have started growing Kuruva organically at our farm in Palakkad, Kerala since 2014. The rice is milled with bran and is single boiled, there by retaining its nutritional properties. It has a mild nutty flavor and is chewier. Generally red rice is known to be a good source of Vitamin B, high in dietary fiber and antioxidants.
Take 1 portion of Kuruva boiled rice and pressure cook with 3 portions of water for 2 whistles. Drain the water after pressure is released (there is no need to pre-soak rice)
