The Smoothie bowl affair

by on in Food

Continuing from the previous post, another trend that has been doing the rounds is smoothie bowls. While it may leave somewhat of a mess in the kitchen, the process of making and eating it justifies the mess! These bowls, apart from being fun to make, give you quite the energy boost to keep you going for a few hours. While the verdict is still out as to how much fruit is too much fruit I’m going to still share a few that I have tried out.

Green but not mean!

  • Dragon Fruit (White flesh)

  • Banana

  • Half an Avocado

  • Milk

Toppings : Almonds, Walnuts, dehydrated blueberries, Cacao nibs

Add the frozen chopped up fruits to the blender, give it a spin, find a bowl, pour it in, add some toppings and you are good to go!

There is no such thing as too much pink!

  • Dragon fruit (Pink flesh)

  • Banana

  • A few pineapple pieces for that extra twist.

  • Milk

Toppings : Pomegranate, Granola, Cacao nibs, Dry fruits.

Add the frozen chopped up fruits to the blender, give it a spin, find a bowl, pour it in, add some toppings and you are good to go!

A tip is to chop up the fruits and freeze them overnight, this will add the frothiness to your bowl. You can also add Cinnamon or Vanilla essence if you like. I have just started experimenting with carrots and beetroots, turns out vegetables are great for texture and consistency!
